Mary-Alden Smith is a liability litigation attorney in the firm’s Charleston, South Carolina office. She earned her B.A. from the University of Virginia and her J.D. from the Charleston School of Law. While at UVA, Mary-Alden served as a Fourth-Year Trustee and a University Guide. While in law school, Mary-Alden competed on the Trial Advocacy Board and Moot Court Board.

Prior to joining the firm, Mary-Alden practiced in the areas of complex construction litigation, premises liability, bad faith litigation and coverage disputes, personal injury, and general insurance defense. Mary-Alden is admitted to practice in state and federal court in South Carolina.

Mary-Alden grew up in Cana, Virginia. Prior to attending law school, Mary Alden worked at a vineyard in Charlottesville, Virginia. Outside of work, she enjoys riding her longboard, listening to live music, and enjoying the Charleston restaurant scene with her family.
