Steven Jordan practices in the firm’s Columbia, South Carolina office.  He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of South Carolina and his J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.  Since graduating from law school, he served as a law clerk at the South Carolina Court of Appeals for the Honorable Daniel F. Pieper and the Honorable Paula H. Thomas.

Steven also practiced law with a law firm in Beaufort, South Carolina in a variety of insurance defense matters.  Immediately prior to joining Willson, Jones, Carter & Baxley, he served in the Office of General Counsel for the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce as the Senior Legal Counsel.  While serving the Department, he represented and advised the Department in a wide variety of matters, including civil litigation and in over 100 administrative appeals.  During this time, he was designated by the South Carolina Attorney General as a Special Assistant Attorney General to represent the State and prosecute criminal matters relating to unemployment insurance fraud.

Steven is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association and is licensed to practice in all South Carolina Courts, the Federal District Court of South Carolina, and the Supreme Court of the United States.  He practices in the areas of workers’ compensation defense and appellate law.

Steven lives in Columbia with his wife and children, and they are members of Spring Valley Baptist Church in Columbia.  In his free time, Steven enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing golf, and following the South Carolina Gamecocks.
